Classic Modern and Connected with the Narrative of Athens' Heritage
The new Grand Hyatt has been created within a building which was originally a Marriott. Located on one of Athens’ busiest thoroughfares, this is a hotel for business and leisure where a sense of grandeur and formality fits the brand and hints at the Athenian inheritance.
The white marble of the façade has been translated into the interiors, beginning with the re-planned, double-height reception lobby. Large, deep-veined, chamfered marble slabs clad the walls, columns have been re-clad with a of hint classical Greek form and a specially-designed installation of oversized coins introduces a touch of antiquity. By contrast, the adjacent lounge bar responds to the single-height volume with timber, brass and tactile leathers. Guestrooms are spacious and smart with pale oak finishes and white and grey marble bathrooms. A new rooftop level includes a bar, restaurant and glass-sided pool looking towards the Acropolis.
