The legendary Bürgenstock Resort has recently re-opened after a complete redevelopment that included the introduction of the new five-star Bürgenstock Hotel. Acting as architectural masterplanners as well as interior designers, MKV responded to the modernist architectural design with imposing, yet deeply comfortable interiors in which the views are the star. To be in Bürgenstock Hotel is to hover over mountains and lake in window seat of your room, the sunken tub in your bathroom and in every major public space. Materials are natural, textural and local, there are cosy seating areas, fireplaces to gather around and a reassuringly earthly colour palette. The dizzying majesty outside is thus counterbalanced by a sense of rootedness inside.
